What could cause this? I thought my mouse needed batteries because it is lagging and sometimes decides to not click on the button I'm trying to click on. It is a wireless but changing the batteries didn't help. I can't open the other part so I don't think there is batteries in there. I did recently add some more memory but it was starting to lag before that. Do I need another mouse or could I have another program that is causing my computer to lag? Anyone had any trouble like this?

My cordless mouse came with a fancy utility that let me do all sorts of configuration tricks. I uninstalled that app and the mouse still worked great. I wasn't having problems with the utility, but perhaps you are?

And there's the generic hardware tip: delete the hardware item's entry in Device Manager and reboot. It forces a reconfiguration.

Is it a USB mouse? Have you tried plugging its receiver into a different USB port (especially if you're using a hub of any sort)?

Thanks Doug. It's not USB and that probably would have been a great solution except I got so impatient I followed my husbands advice, disassembled it, and killed the mouse. :bawling:

So.... I stole my kids' mouse

Well, that's what I get. Steal my kids mouse and it goes in the opposite direction! Argh! :ogre:
