Happy holidays! Haven't been on here for a long time, glad to be back!

I've been thinking about these two filters a lot lately. How were we going about sloving problems with shades and excessive highlights before this new filter?

haha by the way, in my opinion, it does a great job. But still, would Curve be the alternative to this new one?

Once we learn something new, I wonder, would I be able to achieve the same result using another way??? It is sad if the answer is no :(

Photoshop It does not neccesarily have to be these two filters... there are thousands of them...... but how much can we do without those filters just by using photoshop itself? That's my dilemma.
