I've tried my share of Photo-to-Art techniques, particularly sketch actions. But I have to admit that this one: http://www.graphic-design.com/Photoshop/pencil_sketch/pencil_sketch.html is truly one of the best, you get a real sketch effect because in essence, you literally are sketching. Has anyone tried this here? I've been using this technique with great success, I'll try to post some sketches soon. Djackson44 01-29-2008, 03:37 PM Oh sorry, that was the 2nd page of the tutorial, here it is starting from page 1. http://www.graphic-design.com/Photoshop/pencil_sketch/index.html Djackson44 01-29-2008, 03:50 PM Okay a sketch using the technique I mentioned above. The color photo (extracted) and then the pencil sketch. DannyRaphael 01-29-2008, 11:02 PM Hi I'm pretty new here, but not too new at Photoshop. Thanks for sharing the link to Tim's tutorial and uploading an example of your work. (I've merged your posts with a thread on this tutorial to keep things together.) This is indeed an interesting technique. I tried it a couple years ago and like most methods one can get good results with practice, patience and on the right image. If you have more examples using this method, I'd like to see them. In the mean time I hope you join in on some of the other photo-art threads. The book is out of print, but you can probably pick it up used on Amazon. edit: just found a link to the oil painting tutorial here (http://www.digitalartsonline.co.uk/features/index.cfm?featureid=1528) andhere (http://www.digitalartsonline.co.uk/tutorials/index.cfm?featureid=1529) |
