I don't have XP, so I'm unable to advise a member having difficulties...

On Windows 2000, the folder where fmachine.ini must go is C:\WINNT

What is it for XP?

TIA...

in my C:\Windows directory since that's where the heart of XP is installed on my computer. I also created a subdirectory so I can change out presets since Paint Engine's preset file only can handle 100 (I believe thats correct) presets at a time. :)

You are correct about the 100 preset limit. Good idea on the subdirectory.

Lyle & Danny,

I finally got it up & running today. Seems that all I had to do was reboot computer a 2nd time. Thanks so much for the help.

One question....I see that after trying different settings under that random drop down menu, if I like the effect & want to remember it, when I go back it always says none & I forget which selection I made & like (or not).

Thanks again & HAPPY 2006 TO YOU ALL!

Glad you're over the hump on this one.One question....I see that after trying different settings under that random drop down menu, if I like the effect & want to remember it, when I go back it always says none & I forget which selection I made & like (or not).Far as I can tell, that's the way it works.

About all I can think of here is to keep a pad (or some Post-IT notes) and pen handy. :)
