I'm always interested in feedback. Please tell me what you think of this site.

Precious Effects (http://www.preciouseffects.com)

I created this over a year ago, and to date, have earned a grand total of about 30 bucks performing photo restorations. However, I've had many people ask me to create websites for them. Last summer I bought some dated Macromedia software on eBay, and now I find myself doing more "web" work than I'd planned, and far less "photo" work than I'd planned.

My real passion is photo manipulation. I love it! Now if only I could figure out how to make money doing so...

very nice Ken. Very creative stuff on both the photos and web-sites. The only thing I would suggest would be to have your website samples open into a new browser.

Hi Ken,

I had a quick look at your web site, and I like the layout....simple and easy to navigate. I can see why people seek your advice in this field.

However, if the purpose of the site is to attract photo restoration work, then I think you need to make some of your better examples more prominent - for example some of your colourisation work is spot on, and a few of the restoration examples are quite stunning, but I came across the photo enhancement section first, and frankly none of the examples shown there (particularly the landscape ones) show anything out of the ordinary, and had I been a customer I may not have bothered opening the other sections.

You obviously have skill in this area, but I think you need to reassess critically the examples you want to show, and the order you want to show them in. Get the good stuff more prominent!

Hope that helps!

Ian.

Great advice, thanks to both of you. I can make the sample pages open in a new browser window easily.

As for the organisation, I'm not sure what to do. I might give the whole site a "makeover", perhaps add some subtle flash content here and there, nothing too "loud". I might even make a second website that could be geared towards website creation, keeping the photo stuff a separate entity. Otherwise it looks like I'm running a general store :).
