1. RL Design
2. cazubi
3. leigh
4. RooB
5. Duv

I think, despite of that was a glamour retouch challenge, composition and idea were most important. I vote for creativity and imagination first, technique - after. Duv - just for the cat:) Everyone did very nice job, though.

I based my vote mainly on the skin and hair removal. I looked for even toned skin and natural skin tones. I also looked for images that appeared print ready for advertisements / glamour magazines. Many people did not notice the "goatee" that she was wearing - kudos to everyone who removed her beard ! This was a very difficult project and I applaud all who gave it a try. :bigthmb:

2. twinkissed
3. cazubi
4. cathsaigh
5. Ilsa

Primarily based on correction to skin and hair PLUS adding in some creative elements. I liked the "extreme" fashion look of the peacock entry. Many good ones to pick from :wavey:

Now comes the hard part, definitely an understatement!

1.Doug Colwell
2.RL Design
3.Lorraine
4.PhotoB
5.Angie B

Honestly, I couldn't come up with a clear cut top five, several more could have made it easily. And the list I have was changed and rearranged so many times! What I came up with, I based foremost on the readability of the lettering , as it could possibly be a web page, secondly on the retouch itself, and lastly how the two worked together. All the images had great parts, cazubi, I loved your background especially, (I would have loved to see Duv's hi res) special nod to Jaime and Ilsa also, good work. This was indeed a tough one, even harder to judge than it was to create!

5. Ilsa

With special kudos to Roob and Artfolio.

I based my votes solely on the retouching itself figuring that the art/graphics part was secondary. However, in the art department, a special nod goes to Leigh for the peacock look.

Great creativity in your entries everyone. This was a hard judge.

I thought the primary focus should be on the quality of the photo retouch work, including realistic looking color, tone and texture of the skin and hair.

Since text was to be included along with all that blank space, I chose the entries with backgrounds I thought worked best to spotlight the photo and the word RetouchPRO. I hope this makes sense to everyone :)

After looking at all the entries many times, these are my final choices for the top five.

1. Ilsa
2. PhotoB
3. Doug Colwell
4. garazon
5. Cassidy

Special mention to Angie B, Janet Petty, cazubi, palomino and Jaime.

This was so difficult to judge because there are so many great entries. Wonderful work everyone.

1. Ilsa - best overall design
2. artfolio - very glam!
3. Lorraine - excellent hair treatment
4. Doug Colwell - clever use of typography
5. PhotoB - also good typography

Whew! That was much harder than making the entry. Looking closely to each entry took a good amount of time, and also it was interesting to see how each participant handled the parts I found mostdifficult.

I tried voting for the ones that looked the least touched up. In other words no jagged lines and edges, etc.

1. Palomino - I think this was beautiful and thought it looked right out of a magazine. I like how you enhanced the makeup as well.
2. RL Design - I like how you used the design to blend in with the crazy hair. I also liked the color tones.
3. Doug Colwell - skin tone and hair removal was wonderful
4. Ilsa - I like the added hand and the edging seems pretty smooth
5. Jaime - I like the enhanced makeup and the background

I found this contest difficult to do and to judge and in my opinion none of us really found a good solution to what I felt was the main problem which was not the technical “glamourizing” aspect (although time consuming, many possessed admirable skills in this area), but creating a relationship between the “head” and the “word”. Creating this relationship was made more difficult by the actual head we had to use which was a profile shot which highlighted the ear and drew the eye away from the “word”. I thought the five above best solved what I saw as the main problems as well as being technically sound.

Difficult selection with many good entries to choose.

1. Doug Colwell. Good clean up of hair and nice skin retouching. The highlights of the hair shows some blue color cast.
2. Lorraine. Another excellent work of skin and hair retouching.
3. Rl Design. Fine and elegant work which shows great creativity.
4. Ilsa. Although I think the tone of the new hair didn’t match exactly with the original hair, I like the result.
5. Photo B. The slight inclination you give to the head improves the mood of the composition.

Congratulations to all the participants.
