Hi,
I have a "stupid" question, but is there a way to know which brush I'm currently using under Photoshop? When I start the program, it's on a specific brush and I don't know how to find out which one it is.
Thanks for your help.

Hi Sylvia
That is Not a stupid question. It’s a very good question.
I use PS7 and always had the same problem. Adobe should put the name of the brush in use in the toolbar or somewhere.
The easiest way I have found is a mouse right click. This brings up the Brush Pallet and the brush in use is highlighted.
Hope this Helps.

Here are a couple of screenshots of the answer to your question. I hope they help.
By clicking on either of the two circled parts, you can reach the brush style and size. The other (brush presets) allows you to control the dynamics of your sleected brush.

Oops, it seems my problem is not solved, after all. After playing around using different tools, when I go back to the smudge tool, it seems there is just no way to know what brush I last used, despite the fact that it still shows that brush, right? I did try the right-click, but none of my brushes is highlighted.
Thanks again for your suggestions/help.
