Cassidy i can just about get my head around the time zones, but different seasons never gave it a thought. Palms Kraellin 02-07-2006, 09:19 AM palms, yes, degrees. and mostly just at night. we'd been having one of the mildest winters ever. even came close to breaking a record for warmest january ever. craig patriciakay 02-07-2006, 09:47 AM Hi Palms...Lovely photos..snowdrops are one of my favorite spring flowers.. Like what you did with your photo...very pretty... Craig ..yours is lovely too..like the frame and the lighting... Kind regards Patricia kay Kraellin 02-07-2006, 11:39 PM thanks patricia :) actually, i dont like it that much now that it's posted (mine, not the originals). i had something in mind and it just doesnt look right now to me. the idea was to put 'lights' in some of the flowers. i think the frame is too large also. hehe, that's the trouble with being a critic and an artist. you always tear down your own work the most ;) craig lkroll 02-08-2006, 07:42 PM My usually workflow except I used Plastic Wrap instead of Chrome. Otherwise, Impressionist (djrOil24 preset; also used Thread2 preset with lowered Opacity and changed Orientation angle to fixed to create the canvas), GIMP Bumpmapping and some saturation enhancements. afterwards, where I wanted just oil and not canvas, I selectively erased the canvas texture. :) cazubi 02-08-2006, 08:01 PM Nice photo palms. I think winter passed us by in the Los Angeles area. It was 84 degrees today. I buzzed the photo, and then masked out the background. I added a color background, played with the blending modes, and added a watercolor texture. Cathy :wavey: lkroll 02-08-2006, 08:50 PM Just some more sewing fun. I know you all are probably tired of it. LOL Janet Petty 02-09-2006, 06:14 AM I'm loving the cute little birdhouse. What fun to play around with. Lyle, your "sewing one" of this looks like a real tapestry. Janet palms1 02-09-2006, 06:22 AM Ikroll liked both your postings and i am not fed up of the sewing in fact i had the thought of isolating the snowdrops and trying your preset on them but after spending two hours trying to select just the flowers i gave up. Cathy your posting has a gentle feel to it quite restful, not really complaining about our winter it hasn't been that bad so far today it will be a warm 7 degrees and a bit chillier tonight at about -5 degrees but the sky is blue and the sun is out which beats all the grey clouds and damp Janet problem with the birdhouse is the birds dont think it is cute ( which is why it is on the floor ) Palms Kraellin 02-09-2006, 08:11 AM I think winter passed us by in the Los Angeles area. It was 84 degrees today. i use to live in L.A. but, having grown up in michigan, i just couldnt get used to people watering their lawns on christmas and had to move ;) craig lkroll 02-09-2006, 06:02 PM I've actually dedicated this month to tapestry/sewing on my ArtWanted (http://www.artwanted.com/artist.cfm?artid=10918) site. Not a paying member, so I can only upload three samples a month; enough for me. Not as talented as most of the folks here. :) |
