Coloring or matching the skin tone, especially on the face is prob my biggest problem area when retouching.

Im looking to see if anyone knows any good techniques for evening out the skin tones without blurring or surface blure, strictly color correcting on the existing pixels and image detail.

Thank you. :aghast:

For Quick coloring, I think you could put a simple color layer with BLENDING MODE SET TO COLOR.

and Make a layer mask for the skin in the method you wish.

In the attached it's very contrasted, like the original, but it's just for you to notice the change.

Change the opacity of that layer and ad a CURVES LAYER to equalize with all.

color balance, channel mixer, and even curves and contrast/brightness. play around with them. you'll find the mix.

Thanks Craig....I started to use Channel Mixer on a particular image and was getting pretty good results along with taking contrast out of hot spots.

Another way to work on just the color is to switch to lab. I then used a curves adjustment layer on the a and b channels and masked out areas that weren't skin.

KR1156! Have you been double-posting?
Naughty, naughty!

Now write "I will not double post", 200 lines, and you may not use <Ctrl><C>. :ogre:

I would ask members to use the other thread here (http://www.retouchpro.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12786)

Thank you,
