I just wrote a Photoshop action to streamline the steps. Click my name above/left and send me an e-mail (not a PM) if you'd like to try it out and give me some feedback. :) palms1 02-15-2006, 12:08 PM Trimoon what a selection, they are great, I have been playing around with this most of the day, flowers seem to work best for me, i tried a face ( animal and human ) but it looked quite goulish ! ! ! ! Is your animal a cat ?
Palms
do they remind any one else of the glass paper weights you can get ? Kraellin 02-15-2006, 12:23 PM fun!
craig
edit: on the third one, i wondered what would happen if you already had a round patterned shape and did this. i took my image from the patterns thread and tried it. changed it a bit, but not that much :) palms1 02-15-2006, 12:32 PM Well some one had to do it ( Craig let me down )
a horrible one, and another thought they look a bit like marbles ! ! ! ! Kraellin 02-15-2006, 12:35 PM i let you down? oh my; that will never do. uh...how did i let you down?
and yes, i remember those glass paperweights that were semi-spheres and had a glob of something inside the clear glass. and yes, they do remind me of those a bit.
craig palms1 02-15-2006, 12:38 PM Craig

Palms Kraellin 02-15-2006, 12:40 PM palms
thanks. i like the original better on that one :)
oh, you were expecting an animation or something humorous? boy, tough crowd ;)
craig palms1 02-16-2006, 12:58 PM Today i have been trying out Danny's action which works great  , I did have one mishap (my Fault) but in doing so found out that you can use rectangles which give you oval's, doubling the fun ! ! ! ! ! ! !
thak you Danny
Palms Kraellin 02-16-2006, 01:25 PM lovely. and fun. who could ask for more :)
i always find it fun to learn the method and then take it out on my own. i see you've done the same. i tried it a couple other ways also, repeating the same step instead of changing the setting and also in only rotating it 90 degrees instead of 180. try it with triangles ;)
craig philbach 02-16-2006, 02:07 PM Here I was I had my little daily plan and ran into this darn thread. Tripped over it and made my little action and constructed some of these gizmos and I am way behind on my schedule. The good news is that since I'm retired I don't have a schedule. palms1 02-16-2006, 02:33 PM Thought there for a minute i might of been in trouble :heul: Glad you have retired, but your time was well spent they are great in fact i cant pick which one would be my favorite ( have you tried doing the rectangle ones woops there goes a few more hours)

More Here: (http://upload.pbase.com/trimoon/circles) Kraellin 02-16-2006, 04:16 PM very cool, phil. i like the first one best, though the purple one is a close runner-up.
trimoon, i'm going to have to actually try that plugin. very nice :)
craig palms1 02-17-2006, 01:29 AM Trimoon you have been busy, I have found my favorite though Number 32 beautiful
Palms Trimoon 02-17-2006, 07:42 AM An Animation (http://www.pbase.com/trimoon/image/56180590.gif) sequence of images philbach 02-17-2006, 08:11 AM Darn thats great. Thanks for producing and posting it. Kraellin 02-17-2006, 08:18 AM trimoon,
very cool. i like that deep red one in there. you also gave me an idea :)
craig Kraellin 02-17-2006, 01:17 PM let's see if this will work...
http://65.5.254.8:8080/guitar-morph-1-k-1.avi
craig palms1 02-17-2006, 02:09 PM It worked for me  Would it be possible to have a little pause at the end, it goes quite fast and dont get that good a look at the circle ( unless you are pretty nifty with the pause button ) other than that very good
Palms Kraellin 02-17-2006, 03:35 PM palms,
thanks :) and glad it worked! i couldnt get it to play. it downloaded ok, but it seems my .avi viewer wont show it. thankfully, i saved it as a .gif also.
as for the speed, yes, i can change it. i wondered about that. however, i've got some other plans for this yet, so i'll probably wait and change the speed when i do some more with this.
one thing about doing this, was that i used meesoft's smart morph. i like that program. simple, easy to use, and does a very nice job. but, it's got its limits. what i was hoping i could do was really show the neck of the guitar curving around like it ends up as. smart morph couldnt handle it that way... too many 'crossed lines'. but, i'll be playing around some more with this, so we'll see.

Circles II (http://www.trimoon.com/Circles%20II/Circles%20II.html) Janet Petty 02-18-2006, 06:23 AM Nicely done Steve. Very creative and quite entertaining. I liked it a lot.
Janet Kraellin 02-18-2006, 10:09 AM very nice, trimoon. i especially liked those last two.
craig philbach 02-18-2006, 10:38 AM Hey nice movie. Thanks. Cameraken 02-18-2006, 11:30 AM These Are Fun.
The instructions ask for a square picture but if you start with a rectangle you get “Amazing Ovals”
Pictures by Boris Vallejo.
Ken palms1 02-18-2006, 11:54 AM Ken they are fun and yours are really nice , yep had worked out about the ovals (by mistake ) and this is what i got trying out Craigs idea try it with triangles ;)

Palms Kraellin 02-18-2006, 11:28 PM palms,
not quite what i expected. in fact, i'm a bit surprised. i would have thought it would have been more thoroughly symmetrical. oh well, it's still an interesting piece :)
craig lkroll 02-19-2006, 12:04 AM I really like the effect (gave it a try myself, but will not post). Very easy to do to. Kudos to the one who figured out how to do this. :) palms1 02-19-2006, 04:22 AM I really like the effect (gave it a try myself, but will not post). Very easy to do to. Pity you arent posting Ikroll, as i have found that the problem with the size is making it big enough
Palms lkroll 02-19-2006, 08:30 AM Here's one of my Mom at Lagoon Park last Spring. This is just cool stuff. :) Kraellin 02-19-2006, 12:11 PM ken,
i love those. very vivid. i like that you can make out, to some extent, what they were originally. but the twisting just takes it to whole new places. i think maybe the ovals do this more than the circles.
lk,
you might not want to show this to your mom. i'm sure there are more flattering images of her ;) and yes, very cool :)
craig palms1 02-19-2006, 12:18 PM Ikroll
was thinking along the same lines as craig, so you had better behave or else will tell on you

Palms Kraellin 02-19-2006, 12:31 PM this one is with a hexagon selection of our parrot, posted by nancy in another thread.
ok, that first one wasnt done on the original parrot picture. this second one was done on the original using a rectangular selection.
craig Trimoon 02-19-2006, 08:36 PM Something I made using Circles (http://www.pbase.com/image/56286131) lkroll 02-19-2006, 08:45 PM This Magic Circle thing will catch on. I remember an Escher self portrait where he holds out a globe which shows the reflection of his face. This would be a cool effect for someone to try. :) palms1 02-20-2006, 05:43 AM Craig i had been thinking of trying a hexagon, think i will give up on different shapes now and will have to think along the lines of trimoon and Ikroll ( given a chance)
Trimoon absolutely adore that, It is worthy of being printed and framed
Palms Kraellin 02-20-2006, 10:01 AM palms,
yes, the hex isnt quite as good as the rectangle and square. the circles dont come out as much.
trimoon,
you're definitely taking this to new levels. quite a festival of colors there!
