Trimoon what a selection, they are great, I have been playing around with this most of the day, flowers seem to work best for me, i tried a face ( animal and human ) but it looked quite goulish ! ! ! ! Is your animal a cat ?

edit: on the third one, i wondered what would happen if you already had a round patterned shape and did this. i took my image from the patterns thread and tried it. changed it a bit, but not that much :)

and yes, i remember those glass paperweights that were semi-spheres and had a glob of something inside the clear glass. and yes, they do remind me of those a bit.

Today i have been trying out Danny's action which works great :bow: , I did have one mishap (my Fault) but in doing so found out that you can use rectangles which give you oval's, doubling the fun ! ! ! ! ! ! !

i always find it fun to learn the method and then take it out on my own. i see you've done the same. i tried it a couple other ways also, repeating the same step instead of changing the setting and also in only rotating it 90 degrees instead of 180. try it with triangles ;)

Here I was I had my little daily plan and ran into this darn thread. Tripped over it and made my little action and constructed some of these gizmos and I am way behind on my schedule. The good news is that since I'm retired I don't have a schedule.

Thought there for a minute i might of been in trouble :heul: Glad you have retired, but your time was well spent they are great in fact i cant pick which one would be my favorite ( have you tried doing the rectangle ones woops there goes a few more hours)

It worked for me :grin: Would it be possible to have a little pause at the end, it goes quite fast and dont get that good a look at the circle ( unless you are pretty nifty with the pause button ) other than that very good

thanks :) and glad it worked! i couldnt get it to play. it downloaded ok, but it seems my .avi viewer wont show it. thankfully, i saved it as a .gif also.

as for the speed, yes, i can change it. i wondered about that. however, i've got some other plans for this yet, so i'll probably wait and change the speed when i do some more with this.

one thing about doing this, was that i used meesoft's smart morph. i like that program. simple, easy to use, and does a very nice job. but, it's got its limits. what i was hoping i could do was really show the neck of the guitar curving around like it ends up as. smart morph couldnt handle it that way... too many 'crossed lines'. but, i'll be playing around some more with this, so we'll see.

i love those. very vivid. i like that you can make out, to some extent, what they were originally. but the twisting just takes it to whole new places. i think maybe the ovals do this more than the circles.

this one is with a hexagon selection of our parrot, posted by nancy in another thread.

ok, that first one wasnt done on the original parrot picture. this second one was done on the original using a rectangular selection.

This Magic Circle thing will catch on. I remember an Escher self portrait where he holds out a globe which shows the reflection of his face. This would be a cool effect for someone to try. :)

Craig i had been thinking of trying a hexagon, think i will give up on different shapes now and will have to think along the lines of trimoon and Ikroll ( given a chance)

yes, the hex isnt quite as good as the rectangle and square. the circles dont come out as much.
