XYZ Graphics Los Angeles is currently in need of a top notch retoucher for 2nd shift. Competitive salary and EXCELLENT benefits.

well, i filled the position with a really great retoucher. i was surprised that nobody from this board replied to my post however. which part was scary???? does nobody have CMYK experience? i find it hard to believe that it would be the location....LA is a big place and sort of a corner of the market.
let me know...i'm curious.

Some of us are not based in the USA. A lot of people on here also work from home using FTP.

Shelby is correct; I'm actually in your area but am only interested in building up a home-based business through FTP.

It is suprising that most people don't have a good grasp of cmyk...but understandable.
I don't live in Cali...sorry

I for one use CMYK every day in my Creative Artworking role. I create special packaging for DVDs and this includes creating DCS2's in Photoshop, Emobssing, Foils, Spot Whites and so on.
With the beauty and Fashion retouching work that I do from home they are always supplied as RGB

I have worked exclusively in CMYK colourspace (I used to drum scan direct to CMYK seperated films) - I am increasingly receiving RAW file, so I do most of the retouching in RGB or LAB prior to final profile change to CMYK.

I was born into a CMYK world about 17 years ago when retouching was done on a $800,000 HELL-Combi workstation or Scitex system and cost $500.00 an hour. So yeah, I know cmyk... Actually I only work RGB now due do the broader gamut and new repurposing workflows. I am actually thinking about moving down to LA/orange county area.. thats where I grew up. I worked for Primary Color for quite a while.. actally help them set up there LA imaging dept many years ago. Too bad I missed the boat ;)
