OK, as a relatively new member, this is my first RetouchPRO contest entry. It was a lot of work (especially since I've never done a vehicle before) and a lot of fun -- learned bunches. I hope I didn't break the rules? The instructions said remove the license plate, which I did, but then I replaced it with my own personal plate. Every car ad I see does have plates! Also, put it on a white background, which I did, but then I faded it as a rolled background. Apologies if I messed up. Hopefully I'll know better next time.

I did mostly smudging, some surface blur and lighting effects.

Okay - I didn't listen to the directions. I figured there would be quite a few great entries from which to choose - so I submit this.

Until I tried to fill in the blanks of a car, I didn't realize how much my eyes miss of the every day routine. :classic:

Really good entries so far.

We are ready to go ahead with the catalog publication as outlined.

To prepare the 1999 Ferrari 355 Spider for the catalog listing, the decision was made to take the vehicle out of the sunlight and into the studio for a re-shoot. Our lighting consisted of (5) 2k, and (4) 1k hot lights with scrim's placed at each end of the car and another large scrim suspended overhead at a 20° angle.

Of course the Ferrari was washed, chrome polished and the interior, tires and matte black plastic exterior parts had an application of Armor-All before the photo shoot. In post-production, there was a need for minor retouching to remove various studio reflections and I'll be happy to put the details in your project discussion forum.

Listing price is $99,500.00. ;-)

(I have a Flash animation of this "assembling" from layers but it's too big to post here...) Some really nice entries everyone - great work!

Wow this turned out to be an extremely close contest and the ties show it!
This was the first time we had a tie for FIRST. In the event of a first place tie, the tie breaker goes to the member with the most first place votes.

So the winner of the March RetouchPro contest is….

HannibalVector

Congratulations on a job well done!

HannibalVector has won a copy of Exposure (http://www.alienskin.com/exposure/index.html) by Alien Skin

Exposure brings the look and feel of film to digital photography. Simulate the warmth and softness of real world film, both color and black and white. Reproduce realistic film grain, and simplify your digital photography workflow.

The top 6 were as follows:

HannibalVector: 52 (tie breaker with 8 votes for first)
Pocoroba: 52 (tie breaker with 5 votes for first)

InfiniteMonkey: 35
Peth: 35

Doug Colwell: 32
StudioJ: 31

Great job to all!
