View Full Version : keyb.-shortcut toggle current layer on/off ?
looking for keyb.-shortcut to toggle current layer on/off ?
in Photoshop CS 2 on osx
are there any? couldnt find in online Help or book
thanks That's one I never thought about. Could you make an action with a shortcut?
Ed i dont know
i regret that i dont work so much with actions.
maybe i know too less about it in the very detail.
i have a few there, but only for shrinking images to diff. sizes
and for finishing an image with unsharpen + noise
hm, i was looking for this shortcut for years now (toggle current layer on/off)
as i use to toggle it on off with my mouse curser like every 10 times in a minute, so frequently to compare between original and current layer, so i could save a hell of a time, i guess...
i always forget to ask anyone about after some time. studioj 03-04-2006, 09:16 AM Ok, I don't on/off a layer with shortcut, I don't know it now, maybe it is somewhere
but what I do it's just type "01" in the number's keyboard, and that gives me 01% opacity, noone can notice there is a layer there.
If you want it back, just type "0" (cero) and it will back to 100% opacity.
If you use SHIFT KEY, you'll move the FILL
Use ALT+SHIFT+8 to place on the background layer
Use ALT+SHIFT+9 to place on the above layer
There is one to move over the layers, but I can't remember right now studioj 03-04-2006, 09:18 AM LOL, just remove the SHIFT in the ALT+8 and ALT+9
So, dear Pure, just click ALT+8 and then 01 ;) thanks
tried it.
using "01/1" numbers pad:
think i would struggle controlling always at which percentage transpa. is in the moment, you know? its a bit awkward maybe as i work on a laptop keyboard only.
but it is an alternative, if there is no shortcut at all in the end....sure
"alt-8": pressing this changes nothing here. maybe i have a different version.
CS2, german, hm
sometimes i press 01 by accident, and i cant work anymore, then i am searching "whats wrong?" and later i see that my current layer is at 1% transpareny, thats funny studioj 03-04-2006, 09:36 AM Mac or PC? lkroll 03-04-2006, 05:36 PM I guess when I'm rendering, I just like to do pull down menus and mouse clicks. You all won't believe the computer pose I usually use when doing renderings (just image leaning way back with a foot rested on a desk). When it's time to do some fine-tuning, then I usually sit crosslegged with my eyes close to the screen). :lmao:
I guess if you have a MAC, then you need to use a lot of shortcuts since you only have one mouse button. lately all macs include a new mouse called "mighty mouse", its white and looks plain and even, the second button is hidden under the right part of the plastic cover, so i got 2 mouse buttons now. also there is a tiny scroll whell in the mouse, and 2 side buttons, i dont use, as its way too awkward to press. OnAir 03-06-2006, 02:29 AM I've got a list of PS2 OSX shortcuts, looks like there is no 'toggle current layer' combination. I use mouse, or 01/0 combination.
http://user.fundy.net/morris/downloads/PSCS2_Shortcuts.pdf yes. sort of. what a pitty.
i am not very familiar with shortcuts other the popular/main ones in Photoshop. what do you think, is it possible to create it myself? i was reading about it but dont know how it could work.... (in Photoshop CS2 under "shortcuts") OnAir 03-06-2006, 03:19 AM I'm not sure, if it is possible to create a new one, you can just modify defaults , check out Edit-Keyboard Shortcuts menu. | |
