We haven't done flowers in a while, so let's give these a go.

Enjoy!

craig, I liked the first one.
Inverted reality :dizzy: , flowers inside the bowl - sortta twisted stuff I appreciated.

had fun with a couple of impressionist settings

thanks Ro :)

that is an interesting technique. i like the second one also, but mostly because it reminds me of some blown glass art i've seen, which i also liked.

palms,

love the actual flowers in that second one! love that impressionist can capture the essence without the actual form/substance.

Been on an oil binge as of late. I started out using Photoshop's cutout tool in conjuction with Danny's djroil24 (but set the modify color option in Impressionist). I blended in Plastic Wrap and saved the result. Opened it up in GIMP for bumpmap and canvas work. The full High quality rendering is here (http://img145.imageshack.us/img145/7138/rprosesyellowandmaroon5vj.jpg). Attached is a cropped lower quality version. :)

Thank you Palms.

The first one...(Monet)... is all Gertrudis Pro.

Now, as for the "Not Monet", I started out with Gert, didn't like it, added a layer and blends, didn't like it, added some Buzz, didn't like that either. So after about a half hour, or so it seemed, of layering and filtering the end result was this. I can only call it a conglomeration. And that's being kind.

OnAir maybe it is a difference in language but over here It is a "snake in the grass" not in the "glass"   very clever one

And another attempt by me, this time using the AHB, but this time with a brush that i had made, ( if you look closely you will see what shape i made the brush with )

Palms

Photoshop thanks steve for info

Well, R/l riddle is more common for japanese people, as they have a 'ell of a time with R. Snake is known as an oriental symbol of wisdom, that's exactly as you told - 'clever'!
So, thank you very much for your refined compliment :)

Well, my first submission.....seems ok. I really wanted to try working from Photoshop into Deep Paint and back again.

Steps: open in PS7, Impressionist--HotSwirl, send to DeepPaint.
Load original into Deep Paint, copy into a blank layer of image sent from Photoshop.
Arrange source and clone layer (essentially copy from Photoshop becomes clone layer); clone detail with medium brush (worked only on flowers and several selected edges. Send back to Photoshop where I did some hue/sat adjustments, some levels tweaks, then flattened.

[Edit: that is not really clear. Opened the original into a window in Deep Paint. Modified image sent from Photoshop was in another window in DP. Copied the original into a new blank layer in the modified image window. There might have been an easier way.]

Here are two of my interpretations. I use Photoshop Elements 2.0.

This is my first post. I'm not seeing my files attached but hopefully they'll show up when I submit...

Dottie: your attachments did not make it.

After you type your message, scroll down a little and you will see "Additional Options" and a box which says "Manage Attachments". Click this. You will get a popup box which has a "Browse" button and an "Upload" button. Click Browse, find your image file and click it. Then click Upload. If you have the correct allowable file type and the size is below the 100K max, then the window will show "Attachments" with the name and the file size. If you do not see that, it will not upload. If you see it, then Close the Window, complete your message, and click submit. Your attachment will show below your message. If you do not see "Attachments" with your file name, look at the top of the window. This is where an error message appears telling you what is wrong (file size too large, alrady uploaded the file (it keeps track), wrong file type).

Try again.

Craig i like both of yours i think this effect could run for ages very cool palms, i agree. this and the kaleidoscope effects are both pretty addictive and sort of all-image type effects. you can use them on anything and the results are almost always interesting.

legacy,

sorry about the man trouble. we can be pains in the keister.

as to how i am, i'm still hopelessly frustrated at not being able to do everything i want with photo retouching and photo art, but compulsively addicted enough to want to be the 'god-of-it-all'. in other words, psychotic as ever :)

but all that aside, it's always good to see folks return to the nest :)

I cut the picture into little pieces, applied paint daubs and poster edges to them and then used Mike Warren's tryptic frame action and stuck them inside.

Now that's funny Palms!

Honestly wasn't doing a comment on all the flowers on RetouchPRO. (Wish I had been as clever as that.)

Just a mood piece, that I felt in the mood to do. :classic:

And as always...thanks.

...last time I posted to this thread. Lot's of GIMP tricks and a few filters (no smudging at all, just blends). I've already tried to explain this cool technique (too lazy to search the previous links), but it's still hard to explain. I used GIMP's Mosaic filter instead of GIMPressionist Ballpark mods again (this step created both the canvas and, with GIMPressionist Fury preset, the brush work simultaneously). Also used Xero's Supersmooth filter for some smoothing of the brushwork and used Color to Alpha set to screen to brighten up the colors a bit.

Here (http://img149.imageshack.us/img149/1820/rp20roses20yellow20and2lo0.jpg)'s the complete rendering (around 330K). :)
