Can the tools from Hidden Power for PSE3 be used in the Mac version of PSE4? I have the book, and like the tools. Otherwise, any views on why I should switch?

The Elements 3 book has 60 tools. The Elements 4 book has 100. Many of the tools were added to overcome things that were taken out of Elements for version 4...

The Elements 3 tools will not all work in Elements 4. Some of the important ones too. This is because of change Adobe made to remove functionality and because of changes in the way layers are handled.

The Elements 4 book is, in my opinion, much better than previous versions. And it is only $19.99 ( http://aps8.com/hppe4.html )

OK?

Richard,

Is there a difference between the PSE4 for PC and MAC? Is your book good for both? I have had PS 6 in the past but never used it much. I am looking for a new version and was leaning towards PSE 4 for my Mac since there is about a $500 difference. I was also looking for a good book. Can PSE 4 do about everything you need for photography with some of your tools?

Thanks,

Mike

There is a difference, but not really when it comes to editing (beside keystrokes). My book is, I believe, the only elements 4 book out that is written for Mac and PC. With my tools I use Elements in essentially the same way I use Photoshop, only difference being I substitute my tools for the ones missing in standard Elements. The point to me has always been recognizing that $500 difference. Elements may not be exactly the same as Photoshop but with a little help it really does all anyone needs to do when editing images. Hidden Power provides that little bit.
