This is probably a squirrelly idea, but I wonder if anyone has ever tried offering "glamour" pet photo retouching (ie: tighten kitty's tummy, raise rover's sagging eyes, etc.)?

I've done a few Dog retouches. But these were just improvements on the picture as a whole, rather than the dog itself. Although one was a Pro photo that needed some of the dogs features enhancing, and cleaning up. Never really thought of offering Pet Retouches as a service. Not a bad idea

Not a glamour retouch, but still...:

You could probably offer this service to show dog owners.

Ive done one on a show dog, not glamour really but moving legs so that the dog would be in perfect show stance and removing distractions behind the dog.

Not a lot, I use the animals more in manipulations than glamour retouch :) but I do touch up their eyes. I found a good tutorial on it at about.com (I have the link somewhere if anyone is interested I'll try to find it) on fixing the 'green/yellow eye' that pets get, so that is about all I do otherwise they all look a bit freaky!

Hmmm. It’s going to take a little practise.

Ha, I'd thought about a Challenge like that, but couldn't find a good dog or cat picture. Never thought about a fish :)

Oh this is hard!

I have to say though I would probably make their 'flaws' more prominent, by choice, give the cat a bigger tummy, make wrinkles more pronounced etc :)

Anyway courtesy of sxc.hu, a pug before and after!

Here an example of a photo retouch I did for a show dog owner recently.
