hi guys,
i saw this on a magazine, i was wondering how they did that.
anybody here knows how to do that? or did they cover the model on the photo shoot?

I think you will find it is just a photo of a mannequin covered in small tiles ;)

you might be able to accomplish something similar on any subject with the Displacement Mapping filter.

i have to go with chris on this one. it looks like a real world mannequin covered in tiles. in fact, i think the 'painting' in the background is also a real world tile work.

Yup. Look at the hands and feet. Heck, look at the whole thing. It's a mannequin, no doubtaboutit. This is the web site: http://www.sicis.it/Eng/index_eng.htm. Any further questions?

As was stated above, I would say displacement maps would be the way to go. :)
