Here is a picture I took on my recent trip to Africa of Impala grazing. Notice the long grass from all the rain. Have fun playing with it.

Something a little traditional from me this evening. Just a some colour + sat adjustment and underpainting.

....be able to reproduce this effect again moments. Sorry folks. I started out adjusting the saturation of the piece and did Xero's pastellize filter on a duplicate layer. I duplicated this layer, set the top layer to Multiply, and duplicated the top layer several times and turned off the base layer. I merged all visable layers and enabled base layer. I believe I used divide, but now I'm getting a little fuzzy in my steps. This is the look that I've been trying to achieve for some time (Thomas Kinkade like look). Now that I finally was able to reproduce a close facsimily, I may never be able to do so again. I really got to start documenting what I do better, but I tend to get synergistic with my renderings; that's the fun and the curse.

Photoshop: I would like to post this one on my ArtsWanted site, but I need to know if I have your permission Margaret. Please let me know. :)

After the multiple layer steps (before the flatten), duplicate the base layer (two layers will now be turned off). Merge the visable layers and then set the resulting layer to divide. turn on all layers and merge the top two layers. Set the resulting layer to Overlay (may need to duplicate this layer more then once). :)

Ikroll - nice effect, and yes you have my permission to use the image on your site. I like the difference in the texture between the deer and the background. The flatness of the deer contrasts well with the busier background and accentuates them as the subject. Also you have a fair amount of yellow in the grass, which I like since Africa is never a Minnesota green.

However , since this is PhotoArt, anything goes - just depends on one's target audience.
