Took this picture of caladiums in my yard. Paint it or punk it... have fun.

I ran some filters (you all know how you play and tinker with them and can't remember which ones?) I do remember distort->glass. The matt and and frame from PhotoFrame.

Very nice, both of them and love the frames. Are those actions?
Thanks,

Mine is not. I cheated... I used Alien Skin Splat for the frame.

Very nice, both of them and love the frames. Are those actions?
Thanks,

Good one Frank

Thanks, Craig

Nan... My frame is from a package called PhotoFrame by onOnesoftware. (http://www.ononesoftware.com). I just got the upgrade and love the realistic frames and mattes. They have some tutorials (QuickTime, I think) and 30 day demos of all their stuff.

I don't see PhotoEdges in their website... only something called PhotoFrame Pro

Is this product?

Yes they are, Steve and a very nice boquet from you!

Love the way you desaturated the background! Sure brings out their color!

I have such a black thumb that the most I can hope to accomplish regarding the flora I love is to either photograph or paint. These Caladiums are marvelous. My hat goes off the Swampy for sharing her beauty with us.

This is my humble try.

lovely plants unfortunately our only option is as a houseplant,
isolated a few leaves changed background , smudged, and sharpened

Janet, soooo soft and pretty! Very well done. Great job covering up a kinda weedy background.

Palms, Love the smudge job. I still haven't figured out that technique. Is it tedious? I'll have to find the tutorial.

Great work, people!

dont recall all the steps, but one of the first was to run the 32 band gray and darken some things. then a screen blend over the original and copy merge to new layer. there was a curves in over the top of that somewhere and a hue/sat, both to bring out the reds mostly. after that it was mostly hand painting in the drip.

Is smudging tedious? no but infuriating to get the hang of till a few things click into place if you have'nt seen this tutorial give it a whirl ( he has a new tut coming out soon) also i think he is a member here .

Hi Swampy,
Here is my try at your lovely plant,we can only grow theses indoors as the winter is far too cold...

I used curves and then xero filters, crumpled and framed in pspx..

Love all the renditions you have received so far...i am partial to Palms1s smudging and Kiskas painting....terrific.......

i like that too, kiska. the rotation was an unusual but inspired choice. love the free look of the painting.

patricia,

great shadowing and color mix. wasnt sure about your poster board framing choice at first cause i wanted to see the picture up close more, but the more i look at it, the more it grows on me :)

patricia,

well, the color is right and i like the inner border. it's the size of the frame and the different sizes of top/bottom and right/left that bugs me a bit. even 'bugs me' is too strong. it's more of a 'curious about', like when you cock your head and look again :)

Know what you mean Craig...found the frame in Paint Shop Pro....dont know why its not symetrical???? Ah well i will look more closely next time.....got me thinking now...

Hi Swampy and the others!
I decide to add my tryout as well. The result is mixing of different filters and layer modes.
I like to ask your promise to use this work on my website. That would be handy as adding screenshots for the layers as well. It's coming sort of portofolio. I'm having assignments site for MyJanee.com and I like to make a new one for the tryouts I'm doing in here. Take a look and tell me what do you think of my idea. I may add your link below the work if you like.
