So I've been using a Graphire 4x5 for some time now and couldn't do without it. But I'm advancing beyond what it can do for me, and its too small and not precise enough. I'm making the move to a bigger Intuos, but I need some advice on the size.

I'm working with a 20" iMac, so it's widescreen format. In the future I will likely be getting a bigger screen, or multiples, so I need to keep that in mind.
The 6x11 seems directed towards widescreen or multiple users, but it is a considerably smaller space than the 9x12.

Anyone used either of these with this size of monitor and have any suggestions? I suspect that I'll be very happy with either one, but when I'm spending that much money, I want to make sure I'm choosing what will grow with me the best.

The only complaint I've ever heard about a Wacom is "I bought one that's too large". Unless you do a lot of freeform drawing, requiring broad swoops of the arm, I'd go with a smaller one.

I'm working with two 20 inch widescreen monitors and I have the 6x11, which works fine. I only find it small when I'm using the mouse, with the pen it works very well. My desk space is limited and the tablet is 10.25x16.25 so even if I wanted the 9X12, I wouldn't have the room.

I have the Intuos 3 that is 6x8 and find it pretty comfortable on my limited desktop space. Even though it is listed as 6x8 the over all size is much bigger than that. With the bezel and buttons included the overall size is 12x9. I stand it up on the bottom edge and store it next to my printer when I need more "mouse room"

I don't use the included wireless mouse, it's too slow for my tastes and I've never been able to adjust the speed to my liking.

I use the 9 X 12. What I have done is remap the tablet into two virtual tablets. (Easily done with the driver software.)

I have a small "tablet" on the lower right hand corner. Then most of the rest of the tablet is my large "tablet".

I get the benefit of a small tablet for navigation and times when I don't need to be precise but want to be fast, then I get the benefit of the large tablet for precise work. And when I want to be very precise it is easy to turn off the mapping and use the whole surface as one tablet.

I have a small desk but have been creative with the use of a wireless keyboard!
