Here are some shells for you to artify...I scanned them into my computer...on top of cling film...dont really know if it qualifies as photo art....do tell me if its the wrong place or shouldnt be here at all....

Hey Patricia,

For some reason, the scan reminded my of my mother's lacquered Mother of Pearl table that we use to have when I was a toddler. Didn't quite get the irradescense down (I know I spelled that wrong; lol), but oh well. Hope you all like the result anyway. :)

Patriciakay.. Great scan. Love the Seran Wrap idea. :-)

Set a color fill layer using the black background of the shells as a mask. Blurred the mask slightly. Then added a photo of water above the shells and color layers. Set the water to soft light and reduced opacity to about 85%.

lkroll...yes i do like your rendition..mother of pearl..it is like that..kind of a shimmery look..

Swampy..I like yours too..the backgrond is a lovely color and sets the shells off nicely...first time i have scanned objects in...couldnt find my acetate and cling film was the next best thing..a bit worried about damaging my scanner..but now the ideas are coming in fast so i will be doing more scans...as if there isnt enough to do already!!!! :lol:

Great photo and interpretation!

For mine, I increased saturation and adjusted contrast. Followed through with the plugin DC Special:Outliner!

Hi Palms...like the effect you have done...i read about scanning objects,flowers or whatever ages ago...but have just got around to it :dizzy: ...and shells were the closest things to hand...
Ah well see what i can find next...
