I need to learn everything there is to know about pageant retouching. I see there are a lot of people on here who are good at them. PLEASE someone post the following help tutorials (step by step please) using photoshop cs.

1. * How to get a flawless smooth face (looks like tons of makeup/foundation)
2. * How to get those glass eyes (doll eyes, they look pretty fake)
3. How to whiten or fix gaps in teeth
4. How to add lipgloss (shine on lips)
5. How to remove a background and replace with a new one
6. * How to add blush/makeup

PLEASE HELP, I can also be reached via email at : avonerep@msn.com

* is needed most!!!
Here is a sample of what I am looking to duplicate please...

I'd suggest getting Katrin Eismann's book "Photoshop - Restoration & Retouching" and working thru it. 2nd edition covers Photoshop 7 and the 3rd covers CS2. You can pretty much adapt for CS.

Hope this helps,
Dennis

Hi pageantart and DWThomp!

Welcome to RP to both of you! :pleased:

Even though I couldn't agree more with DWThomp about Katrin Eismann's books (got 3 of them!) I don't think she concentrates much on the specific techniques required for pageant retouching...

We don't really deal specifically with pageant retouching here at RP but the links I've posted on this Thread (http://www.retouchpro.com/forums/showthread.php?goto=newpost&t=13478) could be of help.

I agree. This is a great book. It also sounds like you might need to learn the basics of the software. There is no extact receipe for retouching. You might also benefit from a book called The GlitterGuru. I don't remember all the specifics, so someone help me out if you can :)

Sorry to ask,

but why the hell did they use a grown-up young lady for pageant retouching? She seems to be at least 20 years old...

They compete as well. Its not just children. There are even Mrs. pageants.

Thanks for the welcome. Joined a long time ago and thought I had put up a few posts before. Mostly read thru some of the threads until I can contribute :dizzy: , still learning! I'll try to become a little more active here.
