Version that i had printed and rescanned so you could see the difference:
printed (http://www.jeffguthrie.com/dl/restored/Grandpa_KitsPrinted.jpg)

the printed version seems to print a lot lighter than what i was seeing on my screen... :( Also i got a border but didnt realize it would hack off a bit of the pic on the sides... :(

Oh well! Not bad for my first effort at this... I have a ton more photos to scan and stuff. Thanks for the feedback and advice!

therookie,

if your print is coming out lighter than your monitor, try calibrating your monitor and check your ink levels. you might also convert the image to 8 bit grays and see if that helps.

Your final version looks great to me. The fact that it isn't printing out correctly is unrelated to your restoration. Your printer driver should have some adjustment sliders on it. The printed image looks like the printer tried to white balance the image (or did the scanner do that?)

Actually i didnt print it out, I had it printed out at kitz camera. (I uploaded the photo and then went to the store and picked it up).

My girlfriend uses them for her wedding pics so i thought it would come out good... Did they just have a bad print run?

Do they look different on all of your monitors too or is my monitor just off?

Thanks for the compliments. :)
