Hi,
Can somebody help me out with folowing:
For retouching I'm (sometimes) using both Adobe Photoshop CS2 and Paintshop Pro 9. Both are set to work with the AdobeRGB (1998) color set.
When I save pictures from CS2 and reopen them in Paint Shop Pro I lost a lot of saturation within the picture. I can restore this in Paint Shop Pro, but then when I reopen the image in CS it is over saturated.
Is there any configuration possible to solve this?
Thanks!

Hi Solar,
welcome to RetouchPRO!! :pleased:
As far as I know, being both programs set to AdobeRGB (1998) working space, it shouldn't happen ... But, I can't try a comparison since I only have Photoshop CS2 ....
I'm moving your Thread to the Software Forum .... I'm sure someone will be able to help you ... :classic:

What format are you saving them in?

Solar, it is not enough to just assign the same workspace. The other key items are:
What have you set your Color Management Policies to in Photoshop Color Settings? These determine how Photoshop treats files with embedded profiles. If your settings are check to automatically ignore the profile or convert to the working color space, then you can easily do something that you don't really want. It is a good idea to check off the Advanced options so that Photoshop will always ask you if you want to convert or ignore or assign a profile to an untagged file. I am not familiar with Paint Shop Pro but I assume that program has similar color management policies.
The other thing people often miss is the check box to embed the profile in the File>Save As dialog box.
Bottom line - If the color conversion engines in both applications are set to properly respect a particular color profile and if that profile is properly embedded in the file, the image should look identical in both programs on the same monitor.

Corel lists reading file color management profiles as a new feature for Paint Shop Pro X, so perhaps PSP9 isn't displaying it in AdobeRGB.
