Thanks, Danny, for the heads-up, but the only difference I can see in this version and VP4, which I've got, is that you get more paper textures. I think I'll wait for the next version :)

My initial reaction was the same until I tried the trial and VP4 on the same 300ppi image.

The difference was considerable, VP4 just never works properly with higher res images and the ability to scale the effect is a real bonus even though it is limited to small, normal and large (50%, 100%, 200%). I don't use it very often but will upgrade.

For anyone who doesn't realise it - do you know you can enlarge the window by dragging the bottom right hand corner - not immediately obvious to PC users who are more used to being able to drag any side out.

I just upgraded to Virtual Painter 5. The reason I did is they improved the way the painters work. It is like using a much more intelligent and artistic Virtual Painter. IMO, it has gone from rarely useful to very useful. The difference is big. And Painter 5 also lets you drop back to the previous painting engines if you want to.
