Hi,
Does anybody know how to remove the whites from sketches? I want to use only the rest of the colors (blending mode on multiply doesn't work the way I want it).
Thanks,
Sylvia

Try to use our product - Background Remover.
This is a Photoshop plugin for extracting objects from complex background.

Sylvia, in Photoshop you can go in to the Select menu Coloro Range and pop up the menu and choose to select all whites. This works great for me on 1 bit scans and on layers that have been run through a filter that results in b/w image.

Thanks to all of you for your suggestions.
Dm_Cher, sorry but I'd rather go with a free plugin that does exactly what I want, like the one Ken directed me to.
Swampy, I have tried that technique but I never really get exactly what I want with the color range + it tends to leave jaggy spots.
Ken, thanks a lot! I downloaded that free plugin, it works just fine for me!

sylvia,
here is the link for 'Cybia'. they have a number of free plugins, one of which is 'alphaworks'. this will do the whole remove black or white, plus a whole lot more. these are pretty good plugins. http://www.cybia.co.uk/
