Is there any way to stroke a path with an image in Photoshop? I have saved my image as a brush but I want to maintain my original shading, color and texture. I'm new to Photoshop and can only colorize my brush strokes. I already have the effect, shading and beveling done in another program but want to use Photoshop to outline a shape with my image. Photoimpact has a feature called Paint on Edges and you can "paint" a stamp around any edge. The problem with that program is the orientation of the stamp does not change as the path orientation changes.

This may not do what you want, but...

Photoshop allows you to make your own brushes. You can select an image that you created and go to Edit > Define Brush Preset...and then just paint away with your newly created brush...

Hi Frank,

I did define a brush with my image. The problem is that it does not maintain the same color that I created it with. The image is a thread stitch in one color and the hole in another. I can stroke a path with this new brush but it takes on a colorized look. I want the result to be my stitching following my path with the original colors intact.

Do you have Illustrator? It is great for that kind of task. If you don't have it even just downloading the trial version might get you by, if you deem it worthwhile... just an idea off the top of my head.
