This is very much the feel that I would strive for with just a couple exceptions. 1. I would make the highlights on her face just slightly less white that the white's of her eyes and, if her mouth was open, the whites of her teeth. I'd do it just by smudging a little more. 2. I feel, and I know I am not in the majority here, that under most circumstances when you are trying for photo-like realism but being a bit generous wrt the subject's flaws, every bit of actual skin needs to be touched by the smudge stick! Next to her ear, is that facial hair? On her neck. Just next to her eyes and under her mouth. I'd prefer to see just a bit less reality/sketchiness there. If I forgot to mention it, I really like the piece. CathyH 05-26-2006, 06:32 PM 1. On point 2, I think this is funny, because I put them in on purpose to make it look more sketchy. They are on there own layer so I could play with them. I will show you it without that layer. Thanks so much for you comments. Littlecoo 05-27-2006, 05:42 AM I think you have done a beautiful treatment of this image...the only thing that sticks out for me is the line of the right side of her face... it seems too unnaturally clean and sharp to me incontrast to the 'sketched' effect overall. Maybe soften a little in keeping with the texture used thoughout. She does look so exquisite though :pleased: CathyH 05-27-2006, 06:29 AM Thank you Craig and Littlecoo for the comments I appreciate the nice word and the advice. blue dog 05-27-2006, 07:08 AM On point 2, I think this is funny, because I put them in on purpose to make it look more sketchy. Your second version is EXACTLY what I would strive for.
