Since you had so much fun with the Crab Apple Tree flower, here is another shot from the backyard: Lilac

I love lilacs. They bring back all sorts of fond childhood memories. Thank you for the picture.

First I cut out the lilacs and created an alpha mask just in case I had to revert to the original. Second I created a colored pencil sketch. Then I moved the whole thing into another file and started a watercolor with several layers, a lot of masking and many different brushes.

Adobe acknowledged with the latest patch for CS2 a problem I have encountered with great frustration over the course of time. I can now happily report that my smudge brushes no longer crash Photoshop every time I use them. I'm still paranoid, however, after having lost a lot of art work over the last months. And saving on a regular basis during a project saved the day this time as well when the cat stepped on the mouse and the keyboard in search of some affection and crashed things again. She got loved btw. Sixteen years old and definitely knows which buttons to push.

Just experimenting again (already shared on other boards). Used my vector conversion method, added GIMP bumpmapping and then select the darker colors (invert select the lighter colors actually), and then ran a drop shadow Script-fu to create the effect. :)

palms,

oh, now that you mention it, yes. hadnt noticed that before. in the original, it's either a butterfly or a giant robot with its arms raised :)
