Take a brick, put it on the table, then lay your head so that your nose is on top of the brick, next use a second brick and smash it.

Boy we have a comedian in the house ladies and gentleman...
Hi,
Try making a loose selection around his nose, making sure to make the selection big enough otherwise once you shrink his nose in the next step you'll end up with portions of his current nose exposed underneath the selection. So basically you want to select the nose + areas of neutral skin around the nose, such as portions of cheek, etc.
Once you've made the selection of his nose you should feather the selection slightly, and then copy/paste the contents of this selection to its own layer.
You have a copy of new nose on its own layer now and can then free transform it. You should only free transform once, so either try to get it right the first time, or make a duplicate copy of the nose layer in case you muck it up.
Either way, go to free transform Edit>Free Transform (or hit Ctrl+T on keyboard) and the transform box comes up around nose. With your cursor, grab the boxes of transform box, and experiment by holding down the Ctrl key on your keyboard as you do this to manipulate the free transform to get it the way you want. Like I said, you only want to do this operation once to the nose, otherwise it will look too soft if you make a mistake and don't start from the beginning. Once you're happy click inside box, or just apply the free transform by clicking any other key and when dialogue box appears, click ok to free transform.
Then it's a matter of fine tuning it to get what you want. You do this by painting, cloning, smudging, or whatever other tools you're comfortable with. If you know how to use layer masks you can paint the new nose in and out. An alternative is to just erase portions you don't like or that don't belong, etc.
The main part is the selection of nose and then getting the free transform right. After that it's just a question of what you want it to look like and go from there.

Another approach in reconstructing his nose would be to use Liquify; gently using the Pucker Tool along his nose until you acheive the look you desire.
Here are the settings I used:
Brush Size: 30
Brush Density: 25
Brush Pressure: 100
Brush Rate: 80
Reconstuction Mode: Loose
Hope this helps and good luck.
