Hi All - I'm new to the site but it looks fun! I'm also new to Photoshop Elements 4.0 and to digital photography in general. I would like to take a photo of me and add a photo of someone next to me. The photo I would add would be downloaded from the web. I am truley a beginner so be gentle.
Thanks, Ant

Hi Anthony,
welcome to RetouchPRO!!! :pleased:
Placing a subject on a new picture/background can be done ... here (http://www.retouchpro.com/forums/showpost.php?p=118065&postcount=6) you can see an example of it ... and a list of things to concentrate on ... Oooopppssss I forgot to mention 'noise' in my list ...

Yes, it's essential you do all your work in a quiet room.
If you have to shoot anyone for disturbing you, don't forget to use a gun with a silencer. :D :D

Welcome Anthony,
I am fairly new to the game myself although I've had more time with Photoshop. I think you will find this site to be extremely helpful. Everyone is very nice and you will never have a problem that wont get numerous responses in an attempt to help. I feel it is the best site I have ever seen regarding help in some area.
Since Flora trumps me in all areas I can't really offer much here but I would say that bringing something off the web that isn't from a stock image site is shaky due to noise but I think that's what Flora was talking about. It's pretty hard to deal with a 72ppi image into an image of a much higher res.
