I first saw this video tut over at Innographx. I've tried it a couple of times, once here in the "Boats Aground" thread: http://www.retouchpro.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=35032.
It's a nice technique and has limitless possibilities for experimentation and adaptation, I should think.
