I do believe Kerry is correct about light exposure. I don’t think there is a magic bullet to repair the damage.

I used two levels adjustments to start. The first, after selecting the light area with a large feather, I used to equalize the luminosity. The second levels adjustment for a small amount of color correction.

Then I used dodge and burn tools to fine-tune…sort of.

There was some color shifting so I used a color layer to equalize the color on the floor.

Hi Neb

I like you almost always use just the basics. All I did use a large soft selection brush in mask mode and selected the light area in the center. The softness of the brush helped blend at the edges. I inversed the selection then opened a levels adjustment layer. The selection will be placed in the mask. I used the center or gamma slider to get the luminance close. Then pressed ok. The second levels adjustment was for the color and overall luminosity. You cannot be perfect in the adjustments so I still had some light areas at the edge of the old circle light area. I used the burn and dodge tools at a low exposure to get rid of that. The floor under the couple was about the same luminosity but a different color. The colors will often shift when using adjustments. So I opened a blank layer set to color mode and sampled a floor color and painted it all in to make the color even.

Very, very nicely done Butch.. In regard to the circle of dark area,

the only time I have seen anything like that was when I used the

wrong lens shade and caused vignetting... Tom :idea:
