Hi all I have some jpgs that I've taken with my Sony Cybershot 4.1 camrea and the background on them is really light and I'd like to get them to look the best I can but no clue where to start I have Photoshop Elements 4.0 thanks for your help.

Go to Levels ( Cntrl+L ) and move the left slider towards the right. Levels show where there is information in the image.

You can also do some Auto Contrast and Auto Levels but you lose the manual control.

If yopu attach a sample or two, you will get some other good suggestions.
