norsiha 07-18-2007, 02:03 AM Hope i am not too late to post the picture i do some photoshopping here.. seby20 07-20-2007, 05:47 PM Here is my try, I think it's not too much compare too lots of people here!! www.sebyproductions.com/GlamourRetouch.jpg tks Seby GeorgeNC 07-20-2007, 11:03 PM Thought I'd give it one last try ... similar to my last post with a few changes and tweaks ... don't know if they will show up at this res. Anyway, it's great to have a place to practice and get feed back ... we're all here to grow =) Baby 07-22-2007, 07:18 PM I'm a novice at retouching, but I just joined here and so I thought I'd jump in and give it a try. pranavy 07-23-2007, 01:31 AM I see a lot of Great Work by many on this long thread... Can someone guide me with best methods to smoothen the skin ? As of now I am aware of this process: - duplicate layer - apply gaussian blur - blend mode to soft light - flatten image Thanks in advance. Pranav superkoax 07-23-2007, 02:28 PM pranavy: Other technique is: Dodge and burn! Make a new layer, soft light blend mode and under the blend mode then tick the 50% grey box... Then dodge dark areas in the skin adn burn light areas to get the skin more balanced.... search for dodge and burn on the search her at RP... Gerry Simulcaster 07-23-2007, 02:33 PM Here is my first real stab at a retouch. Thanks to all on the site sharing their ideas and tips. I have been lurking for a month or so after a friend showed me the site. I am still trying to find a nice export setting using Photoshop CS3. This one seemed to crush the blacks and loose the detail in the hair. I spent a few hours painting in new hair all to see it lost to compression. Jamz, I hope you don't mind the tattoos. Your creativity sparked mine and I ran with it. punk_glamour.jpg (http://eyeonvisuals.com/retouchpro/punk_glamour.jpg) superkoax 07-23-2007, 04:36 PM simulcaster: nice job...the skin okey, but the headthingy and the tattoos is a nice touch! Gerry K_GiMiNi_M 07-24-2007, 08:19 AM My attempt...... pranavy 07-24-2007, 11:38 AM Here comes my entry... :) http://i109.photobucket.com/albums/n68/pranavy/jancikelq5.jpg beast 07-30-2007, 04:40 PM first post no stylizing http://img413.imageshack.us/img413/5665/jancikelq52de6.jpg jimboken 07-30-2007, 08:03 PM Here is my retouch.....first one. Using SkinTune brysta 07-30-2007, 10:21 PM just trying to clean it up a little. crop for composition, remove all skin blemishes, fix red eyes, fix stain on bandana, fix levels, adjust curves, smooth out skin and giant pores, ummm, what elese, oh yeah, fix broken nose and plump up lips a tiny bit. oh, and reshape eyebrows, darken mascara and remove wrinkles from cleavage as well as wrinkle by mouth. I think that was it. about 15 minutes in photoshop. there now, doesn't she look much nicer? :) here (http://bellsouthpwp2.net/b/r/brysta/retouchpro1.jpg) henlephotograph 08-03-2007, 12:43 AM Hey everybody, I'm new here and thought I would give the challenge a try! Let me know what you think. Chad Taralynn88 08-08-2007, 08:48 AM Hi I'm new here :wavey: So I thought I'd give the challenge a try also - not perfect but I thought I would try airbrushing and that porcelain skin/magazine cover look. http://img230.imageshack.us/img230/1225/retouch1lv0.jpg MatthewMarshall 12-24-2007, 05:14 AM I know this is an old thread but i just had to edit the photo, hope you dont mind. Mr.SandMan 12-27-2007, 12:50 PM tried all kind of techniques but this one works best ! superkoax 12-27-2007, 02:24 PM Very nice, mr sand man! nice and funny! My girlfriend is laughing her butt of here while looking at your edition to the huge collection of replies! I thank everyone for replying here! But I think that this thread is getting a bit boring for someone! Everyday the same thread pops up again and again! To me personally I like it, but my girlfriend(who is the model) thinks that it should be put to a rest! rharris 12-27-2007, 06:50 PM http://www.pbase.com/image/90876621.jpg Ronny grannysdc 12-27-2007, 09:27 PM I thank everyone for replying here! But I think that this thread is getting a bit boring for someone! Everyday the same thread pops up again and again! (without the headband thingy though!) cindave 12-28-2007, 02:29 AM Hey, Here is my shot at it. Hope you enjoy!!! Thanks David superkoax 12-29-2007, 12:26 PM Granny: hmmm...have to ask her nicely! after se saw how many who looked at this thread she got a bit scared about doing it again :D so maybe, baby! :D CINDAVE: What happened to her lips??? They look very weird from where I'm sitting! :D Rharris: thanks for sharing, first the fae looks a bit low on contrast! and the right eye looks very different from the left...maybe change that abit...the background was nice....how did you extract the model? hagenlinss 12-30-2007, 11:57 PM I know this is a very old thread but, I s'pose it doesn't really matter. It's still here and you are still looking at it. Right? superkoax 12-31-2007, 04:12 AM I know this is a very old thread but, I s'pose it doesn't really matter. It's still here and you are still looking at it. Right? nope, I just read with my eyes closed! Small example here...looks ok! btw: skin isn't very retouched here is it!? would try to retouch it a bit! hagenlinss 01-01-2008, 03:43 PM Thank you for your comment. I posted this (and plan to post more work) in efforts to find opportunity and work from people who like what I do. I'm not yet sure if that happens here much or not but, I'll give it a go. I see that you are a senior member and I'm sure that you have alot more experience than I. I am mindful that you are quite possibly a very wise and talented artist. I'm self taught and have only been doing this for 5 years and I'm aware that I have alot to learn. Having said that, I respectfully disagree with your comment. After working as a professional makeup artist for 25 years. I believe less is more in a natural portrait such as this. When I work on a high end beauty/glamour shot with great lighting, makeup and model, where everything is more extreme then possibly... but with something like this, as long as all the flaws are gone (which hers are), I prefer to not "see" retouched skin. To each their own, I suppose this is subjective. I genuinely thank you for you reply. Hagen superkoax 01-01-2008, 04:52 PM Thank you for your comment. I really wanted full makeover from people here, so that we can see how different the before and after picture get's... POETIC IMAGE 01-01-2008, 06:18 PM 53924 Glam/Natural. :) superkoax 01-08-2008, 02:51 PM poetic: nice image! the skin looks blurred, but what did you do to cut her out from the background? POETIC IMAGE 01-08-2008, 05:10 PM Thanks for the compliment , skin is in tact actually , but you know how it is , low res doesnt do the image justice. I use extract tool in CS3. All the best to you. Sincerely Chris superkoax 01-09-2008, 03:58 AM Yeah, I know! I even have encountered people saying I have blurred skin when the low res destroys every detail work you hav edone in PS! by the way is the extract tool better in cs3 then cs2? radutheodor 01-13-2008, 11:59 AM I changed my mind on what I've said ... after all, this is a retouch forum, not a photography forum ... Theo. Stephen A 01-13-2008, 01:47 PM I don't really like the pose, makes it hard to make a nice portrait with this... but ah well :P Here's my version... I thank everyone for replying here! But I think that this thread is getting a bit boring for someone! Everyday the same thread pops up again and again! Hah. superkoax 01-13-2008, 04:24 PM STEPH:the background wasn't that good...nothing glamour about this...I would work on this! ARMANIS 01-13-2008, 05:05 PM hi i really like this one scoresbaby 01-14-2008, 12:43 AM my attempt saby 01-14-2008, 03:44 AM my 2nd try superkoax 01-14-2008, 12:08 PM my attempt Nice, to bad the resolution is destroying your detail work here...the skin looks blurred out! my 2nd try I think this was nice. You have tilted the head a notch! The skin is good, I miss more makeup on the left eye since you have it on the right one! Thanks for sharing guys! scoresbaby 01-14-2008, 03:02 PM Thanks for the reply. Yeah I know, it was my first retouch, and did not know how to upload and save , new to this superkoax 01-14-2008, 03:13 PM Thanks for the reply. Yeah I know, it was my first retouch, and did not know how to upload and save , new to this hehe...we have all encountered this problem...maybe if you want to share bigger pictures, you can always use external links...example is www.shareavenue.com it is down atm, but maybe it will be up later on... scoresbaby 01-14-2008, 03:50 PM Thanks You are the greatest... saby 01-14-2008, 11:49 PM Hi Gerry, U've right about eyes, it changed a lot when I put it to 100K and the skin too flice 01-15-2008, 03:49 AM Hey guys... Im new here too... but I thought I'd chip in :) Hope you like the results. Would like input on the makeup part... Larger photo can be seen at: http://www.torbengreve.dk/Images/jancikelq5_re.jpg Cheers BTW: there are prolly nasty mistakes around the edges... I didn't bother to do the masks 100% Just wanted to give the general idea ;) superkoax 01-15-2008, 11:50 AM saby: nice details there! the makeup detail is better,...the only thing I would change here is that "wet" line that goes down to the right under the right eye! superkoax 01-15-2008, 11:54 AM flice: welcome to us! you're ideas is most welcome! I would go for a different makeup color here...I see you have tried to match the head ban thingy...Some shadows under the eyes and on the side of the nose could be removed or softened...do you work with dodge and burn? thanks for sharing... Diego81 01-15-2008, 05:17 PM here my try  superkoax 01-16-2008, 12:07 PM diego: Welcome to rp! See that you tried to make her skin a bit more tanned, but the face has more spots of dark areas around the face! use dodge on new layer with 50& gray to balance it out... rick33 01-18-2008, 06:58 AM another new guy gave B&W a try MartinBabies 01-18-2008, 07:45 AM I gave it a try as well.. I couldn't bother to do much with the hair though. superkoax 01-18-2008, 03:34 PM RICK: This looks ok, would have worked better on the white goffy effect! The right side has a dark area... MArtin: This looks nice! the eyes look too blue IMO. and maybe the skin could be a tad darker?! the mouth looks better as well... MartinBabies 01-18-2008, 04:22 PM Yes maybe a little too blue. I can never tell stuff like that as I am pretty much color blind. :P I can have a hard time making out different colors and also see when I have gone too far with stuff like eyes. Skin color is also very hard for me.. :/ Maybe I went overboard when brightening her skin, but I think that the skin is way too dark in the original photo. Looks almost a little underexposed. I should have stepped away from the computer for an hour or something before finishing, but after all it wasn't any serious work, hehe. :P superkoax 01-18-2008, 05:37 PM MARTIN: Wouldn't color management by numbers be good for you if you are color blind? MartinBabies 01-19-2008, 03:52 PM Yep that would be better. Should try it more... lilysharon 01-19-2008, 05:18 PM Here's another play. Nice photo. She's very pretty. bustaboy 01-22-2008, 08:54 PM her is my try moomike 01-23-2008, 07:10 AM My first post here & one of my first attempts at portrait photo retouching, cheers to everyone for the great tutorials & advice shared here, seems like a very welcoming place. I hope nobody takes this as a plug for my product, but I am introducing it as an alternative to photoshop, and would like to know what anybody thinks. Thanks! Chris pixiecho 01-24-2008, 12:59 PM Here's my go. :-) GoMango 01-24-2008, 05:08 PM I just started with your cropped version...hope you don't mind...the rest is redundant...
