In older versions of Photoshop, you could command-click on a layer and load a selection of whatever was in that layer. Now that CS2 allows you to select multiple layers (by shift-clicking) you can't do this anymore.

Note that you can still load a selection by command-clicking on a channel, just not a layer.

If I wan't to select pixels in a layer, now I select all, and then nudge (with the arrow keys). But this slows me down a lot, and I can't do boolean selections anymore (select only the overlapping pixels on two separate layers).

I can't believe that this feature has been disabled. But how do I do it? Help!

Brian, welcome to Retouch Pro. I am not sure what is wrong with your version of Photoshop CS2 but the Ctrl + Click on a layer still works the same as it always did. Are you using a Mac?

It hasn't been disabled. You just have to make sure you Control/Command-click on the layer thumbnail.
