I'm looking for a new monitor for my Mac G5. I'm a photographer so it will be mainly used for colour correction, retouching and the usual Photoshop work in photography. I'm currently using an aging Apple Studio Display 17" CRT and would like to improve upon that (and possibly use this as monitor #2 for Photoshop palettes, email and such).
I'm mainly interested in the Apple Cinema Display, 20 or 23", or the Lacie 300 series (probably the 319 - more in my current price range). Has anyone used the latest versions of these monitors? I believe both Lacie and Apple has upgraded their monitors in the last few months. Or has anyone seen any reviews on the latest versions? Other than size, are there any significant colour or consistency differences between the 20 & 23" Apple displays? Is the Lacie any better?

we use the 20" apple displays here at work, and i'm not a big fan of them. I had 2 so far that started to get very quick and noticible burn-ins, like what you would see on a projection tv. A friend of mine has the 23" and is also not too crazy about it.

I just recently upgraded to an eizo.

Bite the bullet and go for the 30" Apple Cinema display. You know you want to :)

They recently dropped the price, as well.

HP released a 30" monitor this month, with 1000:1 contrast ratio and a 8ms response time. Might be worth a look, I have not seen costs yet.

For me I think I will stick CRT for another year or so until the sort out this whole "dead pixel" debate out.
