The girls asked me to snap a group photo, so they could hang it at the office. The image on the viewing screen looked very nice, but after transferring the files to my computer and seeing them in their full size, I am quite disappointed. I imagine the backlighting contributed to the problem and am too embarrassed to have one printed. I need only one image for print, but have provided the best three images out of the bunch. (Your Choice)

The size that one can post on this forum is limited, so your resolution detail will be lost when showing an example, unless it is linked to another site where the entire image size can be returned to you.

Anyway, Correcting the color is necessary due to the fluorescent lamps in the office. I would imagine if this was factored in on the original photo you could have avoided the yellow color cast. Most digital cameras can adjust for this. I only checked out the first photo and I see no big problem correcting the image.

As far as close retouching is concerned it would probably be a lost cause due to the loss of detail when compared to the original image size when making a post. So. . . with this in mind I'll post a limited corrected example image but it is not at the resolution you submitted due to what I mentioned above.

I balanced the color out
Brought out some detail on the darker areas.
Removed some blue fringe.
Would have sharpened but this would have increased my image size.

I kept a little more saturation... and yellow in then Looker.

Of course you would have the advantage of knowing the real color intensities. Other than that the same procedures.

Tried to darken the background to remove distracting glare plus some color correction. Did a rush job with selection...could've done better. Pavel

I took a shot at #2. I think it's the best of the three. Process is simple:
- shadows/highlights to lower intensity of the ceiling and background
- Hue/Saturation adjustment layer to decrease YELLOW channel (-90)
- Hue/Saturation adjustment layer to decrease RED channel (-35)
- Hue/Saturation adjustment layer to boost MASTER saturation (+15)

Good job all... duwayne I wondered about the yellow in the flooring... here I went to a lot of trouble to keep it that bright yellow. But now that I see yours I think you and the others have the color right.

Oh well mine looks good too with sun glasses.. :D

I feel I've 'murdered' the picture by compressing it so it could 'fit' in the 100 KB size limit!!! :o: ...

Anyway, I corrected it using:

a Shadow/Highlight Adjustment Layer to balance shadows and highlights..

Hue/Saturation and Selective Colors to remove the yellow cast and correct the rest of the colours.

Levels to selectively improve tone and contrast.

I felt positive I had already seen the lovely, blond, young woman standing at the left (my left) of the image ... since there isn't a chance in the world I might have met her personally ... I thought I had worked on one of her pictures before .... and I was right ... your lovely wife ... isn't it? :pleased:

Here's my attempt... set a white, black, and grey point then lightened and darkened areas of the photo as needed.
