Please resize your entry in order for it to be a valid entry....
Rules:
* Final image must be exactly 600 px wide and 800 px high.
Update: File has been resized. Kraellin 10-14-2006, 01:07 PM i may not enter this time, but i'm having a ball looking at the current submissions :) T Paul 10-16-2006, 09:42 AM Great Halloween entries so far, but I hope there are still some more zombie make-overs out there! If you are not much of a ghoul make-up artist, don't worry. Try your hand at it and just have some fun!
:vampire: Since the deadline was upon us and I had some time today, I thought I'd revisit my entry. Actually I just continued working with my initial entry [1] and went for a collage type rendition -- something like a movie poster.
The background image I chose is a photo [2] my cousin took (used with permission) on one of her sightseeing expeditions. It is the Monastery and Abbey of the Order of Saint Benedict in the Eifel (founded in 1093 by the Pfalzgrafen Heinrich II of Laach, consecrated in 1156) near Mendig, Kreis Mayen, Rhineland Palatinate, Germany. I featured my interpretation (http://nickelcandy.com/blog/plink-g.asp?pid=201) of the photo last October on my Blog.
I felt my "vampire" needed a target for his apparent rage. Deep within my library, I found an old, rather risque snapshot of an acquaintance I took, suitable for his "thirst". She had the perfect expression and pose, but the image required a drastic crop which left a very small source. I did my best to fit it to my composition.
This was a very enjoyable challenge for me (yeah, I'm a bit warped). I think the biggest hurdle was the rule that it be photorealistic. Since vampires, ghouls, zombies, et. al. are not actually real, making things photorealistic suggested a hollywood type treatment. Hopefully, none of us will ever experience the "realistic" part of the equation.
At any rate, "Happy Halloween" to all of you who still recognize the holiday and good luck to everyone who entered. T Paul 10-24-2006, 09:55 AM PrettyPixal
Please address the following two rules violations before the deadline today in order for your entry to be vaild.
* Final image must be exactly 600 px wide and 800 px high.
4. When you submit your entry put your username in the filename (ie: tpaul.jpg). This is so users can save the images to a local directory and remember who did what--important when it comes time to vote.

Oct 06 Contest Votes (http://www.retouchpro.com/forums/contests/14634-october-06-contest-votes.html) T Paul 11-01-2006, 10:00 AM Rotting flesh, flames, snakes, maggots, exposed tendons, blood and fangs galore…it must be a Halloween makeover!
Everyone did an excellent job on all your entries!!
Lorraine – Loved the zombie results. You created such great details from the rotting flesh to the rips in the shirt. Excellent!
Dvaught – Loved the skin texture. Very realistic, except the left side of the neck (her right) bothered me because it didn’t seem as believable as the face. Still incredible work!!
Cazubi – The background image is a great perspective and works great with your image!
Flora – I really liked the eyes on yours, so intense! And the thick drops of blood just great! But the yellow teeth seemed a bit too yellow, but hey I’ve never met a zombie! (wink)
Doug Colwell – I loved the dual personality approach. Very creative!! Great job removing the make-up and de-zombifying her.
Irshgrlkc – I can almost hear the shriek when I look at yours. Nicely done!
LonK – Your had that movie poster feel. Great job! summerz 11-01-2006, 12:46 PM Congrats Lorraine! :bigthmb:
