I thought I let you guys have a little fun this month and really get creative. Hopefully the photo will inspire some ghoulish results!! :devil:

October Challenge - Zombie makeover - :vampire:

The Prize:

THE RULES:

1. Contest will run from 1 October to 24 October 2006. Deadline for entries is 6pm EDT 24 October 2006.

2. I will not answer questions concerning the rules. Interpretation of the rules is as important as execution.

3. Tasks:

* This is not a photo art contest, the result should be photorealistic.
* Create a ghoulish zombie in a Halloween Themed Image.
* If you add other components to complete the image make sure they are non-copyrighted or public domain.
* Final image must be exactly 600 px wide and 800 px high.

4. When you submit your entry put your username in the filename (ie: tpaul.jpg). This is so users can save the images to a local directory and remember who did what--important when it comes time to vote.

5. Post your entries to this thread. Links will not be accepted. Please restrict your comments, questions or discussion to the October 06 Contest Discussion thread. Inappropriately placed posts will be deleted.

6. Only one entry per person. You can change your entry up to the deadline.

7. Voting will run from 25 October to 31 October 2006. Only those with entries may vote. (Note Daylight Saving Time change on 29 October)

8. Voting:
* Submit the 5 best entries (by artist name) in order, starting with your favorite.
* You cannot vote for your own image.
* Once you have voted, you cannot change your votes.


Finally, please remember that this is a friendly contest and suppose to be a learning experience. Tips and suggestions to help others are highly encouraged. Also please don’t limit your comments to just the top 5 when you vote. Most members are eager for feedback about their images, so remember to help each other out. :jacko:

I hate being first, but I couldn't wait any longer to see what the rest are up to.
I'm not even sure whether this is the right interpretation of the rules.
I may scrap this altogether.

OKay! I'll play this month -- since I'm a vampire fan...

I went with a just a tight crop of the original source, then went to work with a variety of manipulations.

After missing last month's competition, I had to get an entry in this time.

This is still a work in progress, so may well get altered before final curtain call (dependent on how much free time I get).

Hi everyone,

So far, there are very good and different interpretations of this month's contest.

I've used some tutorials on creating zombie effects for my entry. This is my "Hollywood" version of what I've learned. I hope it doesn't offend anyone.
