I've got to remove the person on the left-side of this photo and put her on a new background. I removed her but when I placed her on the new background she was on the left-side of the background. I would like to know how can I place her in the middle of the new background. I tried it three times and everytime she comes up on the left of the new background. Thanks.
p.s The girl on the left standing with the high white socks

Hi. If I understand you correctly, all you have to do after you put the girl on a new background, is use the move tool to place her where you want to. The tool is the top right tool. Hope this helps

The reason for her placement could be that you are transferring her whole layer over to the new background once you have extracted her. Try selecting just the girl (pc: ctrl click layer icon, mac: cmmd click icon) and copy pasting to the new image. If you want to keep her whole layer, make sure you don't hold down the shift key when moving her to the new background as I think this keeps her in the same position as well.

Though I agree with hroadhogd1, it should be simple to use the move tool or free transform once you have moved her to the new background.

Honestly, I don't know how to remove a person from a photo and place it on a new layer. I had never done it before, however, I had removed a group of people from a photo and place them on a new background, on the other hand, I tried to remove a single person from a group and it didn't work. It seem like both techniques are a little different. Can someone please tell how to remove a single person from a group of people. Thanks.

No worries Gerald, there are many ways to do this, so I settled on a commonly
used method- Quickmask, and I tried to keep it simple, but if you need me to elaborate more I will be happy to do so. I included my steps in the attachments here.

Littlecoo, thanks for the info on how to remove a person from a photo. I'll apply them and see how it comes out. Thanks very much.

and for the Paint Shop Pro users, littlecoo's example works almost exactly the same by using 'edit selection'. you can paint and unpaint the mask the same way. hit 'edit selection' again and you get the marching ants.
