You have an image, like the one attached and want to remove the car. Using the clone tool to replace the area of the garage that is covered by the car, seems simple enough, but how do you deal with the other areas that the car is covering, areas that you do not know how they look?

i would do as much as i can see, and then cut the rest of it off (crop)
p.s. how important to you that hidden area?

well, the result can be good, since you can see small details of the garage door and wall behind the car...it's all about copy, adjust angel and clone to smoothen out the transisitions between the layers...it's sounds easy enough, but it's not :D

i had a go at it...but the result is showing that I didnt spend much time with it,but the basic result is ok...

It can take hours to realy finish up the details and getting them right, but this picture should be worked with it's full size...

so...

if this is for something like a real estate ad, you want to be fairly accurate in representing anything currently in the picture, like the other house, trees and so on.

if it's just for your own use, then the methods mentioned so far are fine.

basically, this is a clone job, but you could use cut and paste too if for just your own use.

in cloning something like this, you simply take clues from the area surrounding what you are getting rid of. in this case, there seems to be another house or building of some sort behind the car. since you may not know exactly what it looks like, you simply speculate a bit...or, quite a bit in some cases. but again, if it's an ad for selling the house, i'd go take another picture rather than risk pissing off a potential buyer with a 'fake' representation.
