Hi RPro's
I thought id add a thread after reading the Dior Make-up Images that most retoucher's just ache for !

Lets start with the head Makeup Artist - Val Garland she works for streeters here in London -I worked with her years ago in australia and she does the best makeup work bar None . Val works for M.A.C cosmetics and works closely on alot of editorial with some of the best guys in the business . Her makeup application is slick and has been applying foundations for in excess of 20 yrs so the way she makes skin look is incredible .

Then we have hair - most hair for a good shoot will be blown out smooth then they will iron or tong the hair ( curlers-rollers-irons G-Hd ) this gives the hair a sleek polished look .

Next we have a stylist to make sure the clothing is rite for the direction of the shoot , thank god for these people in the business .

Good lighting will make all this even better .

regardless of what actions take place pre-shoot, there will always be post proccessing where a retoucher should come in and do their thing.

the only benefits of a makeup artist, hair stylist, and wardrobe assistant, is that the post proccessing will be easier to tackle. but nonetheless, a retoucher will always bring out more of the capture, and should always play a part if you want that extra edge to the final picture.
