View Full Version : Smile Please Peter S 11-16-2006, 05:46 PM It was the smile that got me with this one.
I've done two versions, I'm not sure which I like best so post em both I thought.
Peter HroadhogD1 11-16-2006, 08:01 PM I like the first one the best. Its more realist. Just my opinion. palms1 11-17-2006, 02:05 AM It was the smile that got me with this one.

Palms MargaretM 11-17-2006, 10:00 AM Peter - you're killing me with all these great portraits! We might have to eat out on Thanksgiving as far behind as I am with preparations.
Here's a version using oil pastels in Painter. I love the lines in photo - long and elegant.
MargaretM Steve Conway 11-17-2006, 10:41 AM Wow! You folks are getting too "fine artish" for me.
Might as well plunge in....after all "nothing ventured, noth....." Oh well, you know.
Steve Peter S 11-17-2006, 12:02 PM What was that you said Margaret - you want me to post MORE pics- I'll have to go on a web hunt for you.
Thanks for taking the plunge Steve it was worth the wait.
Palms I liked your but I had to load it into Photoshop to really see it properly, the white background here just bleached it out (eh you know it sort of blended in)
HroadhogD1 I value all opinions thanks. Kraellin 11-17-2006, 12:08 PM peter,
just make sure the photos you're posting are not copyright protected. general image searches often dont say. so, make sure you have the permissions to post. i like your selections too, but i know all too well how easy it is to post any old thing without permissions. it might also be a good idea to give credit to the photographer or web site even if you have the permissions and can post them. Peter S 11-17-2006, 02:33 PM All good points Craig I should have mentioned the site.
Luckily they have all come from the same source http://gallery.use.net.ru/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?misc
This site has already been used many time here at RetouchPRO by Danny & co.
I found the site from a link given here by ????? (my memory is going- again)
Peter Littlecoo 11-17-2006, 04:43 PM You have done a beautiful job with that image Peter, the artistic effect/s you have used are so well suited to it :bigthmb: May I ask what your workflow was with these? As for her smile, the first thing I noticed, that may be what is making her smile look a little odd, is the skewed/crooked appearance of her teeth... a little retouching there may make the difference. ahutton 11-17-2006, 04:56 PM A little chalk sketch here

Unfortunately, it seems that this site (originally known as "Eldorado") has packed up and moved again.
If anybody knows where to find it now - please post a link.
Rô Kraellin 11-17-2006, 09:15 PM thanks, peter :) MargaretM 11-18-2006, 09:15 AM I was looking for the El Dorado site and came upon this listing of sites with free photos. The El Dorado site does not work as don't some of the others, but there are a lot of good links here. Since I am always on the lookout for resources for our webdesign business thought I would share.

I colorized her and then painted in Artweaver. Finished in CS2.

Well thanks for the info RO and thanks Flora for the original link.
I'm sorry this site has gone (it was there just a short while ago), it did have some good pics for practicing different techniques on.
Oh yes Margaret I've been looking for a picture of a turkey for you (for Thanksgiving), I can't have you going without can I?

I have a real turkey to deal with and it needs my full attention - have not yet found out how to make corn bread stuffing with Photoshop - the edible kind that is!
