I am seeking a method in Photoshop to overlay a layer on an image and stretch or zoom the overlay to align it with features in the background image.

I can see how to position the layer but can't find a way to change the magnification of the seperate layer while 'looking through' it to align it with the background.

I use Photoshop 5.5

Can anyone point me in a direction to do this?

Set the opacity of the top layer to around 30-40% and then resize it

Thanks Frank!

Your reply some how permitted me to discover the Free Transform. It has opened a whole new set of tools to me. Your quick comment is appreciated.
