I took these two shots on my last trip to see my son in California. One is the rotunda at the John Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles. Second is the beautiful vista iat the entrance to the Ronald Reagan Library in the Simi Valley area.

Have fun

Well, here's a quick go - did not keep track of what I did. Started off with a V curve and then ......??
Great lines in this building. Brings to mind Frank LLoyd Wright , of whom I am a fanatic fan. Lakeland, Florida has a college whose buildings were designed by Wright. The library has similar curved lines.

Margaret, great version!

Richard Meier was the architect of the Getty Museum. The style also reminds me of Wright and I am also a big lover of Wright's genius.

Interesting, IK... how'd you do that?

GIMP's NL filter to sharpening it up a bit and then GIMPressionist with graphite_2 preset. Some blending with the NL version of course. :)

Wow the rotunda looks drawn or artificial, tried bringing back something with equalise in overlay mode and reduced opacity but still looks like a 3d rendering

Abstracted and simplified. Enjoy

All very good stuff, folks!

Cathy, I note you took the small sign out that was by to tall bush on the left side. Actually, that sign was a warning to beware of rattle snakes! LOL.. It is a lovely and peaceful place except for the snakes.. <grin>

Assuming the Getty rotunda is symetrical....

1. Expanded canvas
2. Duplicated
3. Free Transform (flip horizontal) the dupe and reposition...

dee dee,

ok, that's scary. as i was scrolling down the list just now and looking at the various renditions, i thought, i think i'll dupe the image, mirror it and paste it back on the other side of the original. scary!

Craig, great minds.....:-) But then I've always felt you and I often have mind melds when it comes to many of these fun projects. There have been a number of times when the exact same thing has happened to me. You post a piece and it is very similiar to what I had in mind. Yes, scary! LOL
