Hello,
I have bring color an image, with a SUPERSTRONG green cast and I cannot get rid of it. It is already color. I am going to tackle this one by converting it to B/W and recoloring it. However, I cannot take a sample of her hair because it's green...any recommendations on what RGB or CMYK numbers to use?

You might try these # R-G-B
Honey blond: 184-151-120
Bleached Blond 220-208-186
Light Ash blonde:222-188-153
Lightest Blonde: 230-206-168
Pale Golden Blonde: 229-200-168
White Blonde: 225-24-225
Something else I have done is to go to Google Images and type in the hair, eye, etc. color that I am looking for. Copy the image and select new image and then paste. Put your eye dropper on the color and you have it. Also, you will get other tones that might help you in your coloring.
Here is a web page with hair color samples:

awesome dcobb...thanks a million for the colors. I love em.
My problem now seems to be segregating the hair into strands, I did some adjustmants to show more detail, but can't grasp how to color it so it looks like hair...

You might be able to use a NEW LAYER set to COLOR BLEND MODE and then set your brush to one pixel and put in some hair strands. This might have to be in a dark color and then again make a new layer for just the hair color. I do not do a lot of work of this nature so this is just a guess. But a thought...

I did work recently on a picture where the hair was blonde and used the BURN tool set to a very small pixel and --watch the opacity-- set to midtones and burned in some hair strands and darkened what was there. When done then on a separate layer did the coloring.
I think the image is possibly to blurred to really get detail in the hair. I doubt if it is going to take color, especially light one very well. I could be wrong. Perhaps someone who does a lot of colorization of photos will be able to help.
I will be the first to say that this is not too good. Did fill in the white area with hair so it can have some type of hair texture for the color.
The problem you'll have is there aren't enough shades of gray to make a good colorized image. It will look very painted, which again, is a style in itself.

Hi Cducasse.
A difficult image. But there is some salvageable colour so I see no reason to knock it back to B&W.
I you want my steps, just ask and I’ll try to remember them :aghast:
Ken.
I couldn't find anything in there, and I really wanted to..sorry.

Hi Chris.
OK here goes.
Add a Levels adjustment Layer.
Use these Numbers
Red 82 1.00 223
Green 136 1.00 228
Blue 119 1.00 210
Select all > copy merged > paste
Image > adjustments > Equalize. Lower opacity to 72%
Add a blank layer set to Overlay. Paint with a large black brush at 4% opacity to darken the areas that are too light
That was the main bits done
After that I added layers set to colour to even out the colours.
Add a curves adjustment layer to colour correct
I added another levels adjustment with a radial gradient to darken the background whilst keeping the face light.
I also added a layer to remove the dust and scratches. The lighter you make this the more spots will show. That’s why Lasa’s picture looks cleaner than mine. You may wish to drop the equalised layers opacity down a little more than 72%.
Hope this helps.
Ken.
