This is the original. The corrected has gone back to the video editor, but I would like to know your solutions/suggestions.

Took red channel and copied it to a new document.

Applied levels adjustment layer to it with a graduated layer mask to even out tone across the image.

Flattened it and then copied/pasted it into the red layer in the original pic to replace it.

Tweaked levels on red layer a touch to get best result.

Finally cheated by painting in colour in the BG area at back of head (couldn't get that to balance for some reason).

Flattened image and applied Neat Image.

I did it a little different... I used a channel mixer and reduced reds and increased greens and a little blue to boot. This got rid of most of the red flare but still left a little yellow blue caste.

I decided to desaturate then add some flesh color back in.

I stamped a layer then masked all and just covered the red flare area.

There was a little different wall luminance and color so I used a color layer to sample wall color and paint in.

channel mixer with green 70%, blue 30% applied with a mask on red part,
and i recolored.
finally, i ran noiseware.

Thank you for your help. I, too, kept looking for a solution and finally found it ont he back pages of Katrin Eismann's book 2. I alternated between the green and red channel. First did a copy all of the green layer. Used mask and covered what I didn't want to change. Applied a gradient mask to the red layer and then pasted into the red the green channel. Did a few adjustments and you see the results. I have kept all your suggestions and again thank you from my heart! :nod:

And a bit of Painting

Cameron that's great. There was a bad shadow. As always, the people here are the best. What a day for lessons. I had time to learn what to do during the snow storm. Oklahoma City was virtually shut down yesterday. Now today it's beautiful and I have to get my Boston Terrier back to the vets. Looks like she'll survive the tumor removal, but who knows what nasty thing it left on the inside.

Hi Candice,

Sorry to hear about your dog's tumour. One of my Dobermans recently had a tumour removed, and there were a few unwanted complications (she's fine now), so I sympathise greatly.
