does anyone know of a quick way to do this? I am in the process of coloring an image for a client, and the shirt was brown & white checker board...

any help is appreciated.

Possibly roughly outline the shirt and copy to new layer. As the shirt will comprise of light and dark, I'd use the select colour range to separate the areas of light and dark.

image is grayscale, but i'll try to run with it and work with blending modes...thanks.
