My kids are still asleep so I'm quickly going to do one more post :classic:

I might use this pic attached as part of my portfolio. I thought a hi-key effect might look good??? what's your opinion? do you have a better idea?

I have attached a 5 min attempt - i have done no real colour correction retouching just a global effect as my children will wake up any moment.

your thoughts??

I like your idea. Here is mine, I brought out the tropical colors.

aussie,

i'm not a big fan of back-lit images. too much shadow on the focus of the image, the guy. so, i'd either re-light it, re-shoot it, or find another image before doing the high-key.

aussie, I really like the retouched photo! Maybe you could bring back some of the original sky colour above the man's right shoulder, so the background isn't completely white (but it looks great now too).

How did you do that, is there some tutorial I can look at?

Hello

High Key images are usually done in camera and the skin would look really white.

See Venture Studios... they do a lot of that kind of work:

thanks for everyone's ideas and input so far - sorry i haven't replied but i'm on the otherside of the world and it's just turned morning here.

shelby - great site - my version is just a twist of hi-key - i thught it was the easiest way to describe it...maybe not - i like images with desat skin...jus thought i would experiment and get great people like yourself to give exactly what you have done – objective comments :classic:
